Rules & Info
Our classic challenge!
Students will navigate an obstacle course as quickly as possible.
Rules:
1. Every obstacle must be utilized - no skipping obstacles by skirting around them or jumping over them.
Example - three small blocks are offset in a zig zag pattern. Students must jump to each block in succession without skipping.
2. Students will have time to complete one practice run before their timed run. We recommend using 50-75% speed so the student can safely become comfortable with the course.
3. The timed run will be the only run that counts toward the score. Times will be recorded with a smartphone stopwatch. The top three finishers will receive the following points to be counted towards their overall score:
• 1st Place - 9pts
• 2nd Place - 6pts
• 3rd Place - 3pts
Let's test that precision and control!
Students will jump from a low obstacle into one of three rings, each worth a different point value.
Rules:
1. Students must land fully inside a ring and "stick" the landing to receive points. Upon landing, the student's feet cannot make any extra movements!
Example 1 - Student lands inside a ring and takes a single small step. No points will be awarded, even if the student stays fully inside the ring.
Example 2 - Student lands inside a ring and their upper body sways while they attempt to control the landing. Their feet do not move - points will be awarded.
Example 3 - Students lands with one foot inside the ring and the other foot slightly outside, but sticks the landing perfectly. No points will be awarded.
2. Each student will have three jumps. Their cumulative point total will be recorded, to be counted toward their overall score. Students will have time to complete one practice jump before the three scored jumps.
3. The senior coach judges will confirm any points received after each jump. A successful jump with a "stuck" landing will be worth as follows:
• 1st Ring (closest ring) - 1pt
• 2nd Ring (middle ring) - 2pts
• 3rd Ring (furthest ring) - 3pts
How high can you stick it??
Students will run up an inclined mat placed against the wall and attempt to stick their marker as high up the wall as possible.
Rules:
1. Students must begin from the same starting point, ensuring uniform distance to approach the wall run.
2. Students will be given a half-notecard with their name on the front and adhesive on the back. Upon reaching the height of their wall run, they will stick the marker to the wall. In the event that the marker does not stick properly to the wall, students will be permitted one redo. A senior coach will adjust the adhesive as necessary to ensure each student has the best chance of success.
3. The highest three wall runs will earn the following points, to be counted toward the students' overall scores.
• 1st Place - 9pts
• 2nd Place - 6pts
• 3rd Place - 3pts
Show us your best moves!
Students will perform their best / favorite tricking skill or combination of skills. This event will be for the Advanced Warrior and Teen divisions only.
Rules:
1. The skill or combo must be performed on the spring floor - no trampolines or obstacles may be used.
2. Students will have 20 seconds, beginning once the senior coach says "Go!"
3. Skills and combos will be judged by the three senior coaches on difficulty, execution, and creativity. Each of these three metrics will be given a score out of 10, meaning overall scores may range from 3 to 30. The top three cumulative scores will be awarded the following points, to be counted towards the students' overall scores:
• 1st Place - 9pts
• 2nd Place - 6pts
• 3rd Place - 3pts
Other Info!
Any NeoMotion student may compete in their appropriate division. Your child's division will correspond directly to the class they're in: Beginner Warriors (7-11yo), Advanced Warriors (7-11yo, Levels 3 and up), or Teen class (12+).
There is a small registration fee per student. There is no fee to spectate but please be mindful of our limited space and seating.
Parents will be permitted to spectate from the lobby or the chairs provided inside the half wall. For safety reasons, we cannot have any spectators on the spring floor or other equipment.
Students have the opportunity to earn points in each event. Points will be totaled across all events and prizes will be awarded for the top three overall scores. While we'd love for all students to to be grand champs, we like for the NeoMotion Games to be a learning opportunity - not everyone will win a prize but we can all have fun!
